About Parents & Friends

Parents & Friends is a small voluntary group which organises regular fundraising events throughout the school year, enhancing children's curriculum in school - building happy memories.  We are extremely fortunate to have a few parents remain in P&F whose children left some years ago.  Their experience and donated time is invaluable and much appreciated by newer P&F members and staff.

All parents are automatically members of Parents & Friends and are very welcome to join the meetings and help out where they can at the different fundraisers organised. Grandparents are also more than welcome to get involved with their grandchildren's school.  You don’t have to commit to a specific role just come along when you can to our informal meetings (dates of which are always included in the school newsletter). Everyone is always welcome to join us for a tea, coffee and occasionally, even a biscuit! Anyone can suggest how money raised is spent and the Committee will vote on whether such requests are reasonable. Usually suggestions/requests for purchases/activities are approved – the only suggestion turned down in the past was leasing a minibus: it was decided it was unsustainable with annual income as it is at present.

Figures from our Treasurer show that during 2015 P&F raised £2,300. Expenditure during 2015 was £2,457.07 - more money was spent on the children in 2015 than was made. £2,457.07 was spent on:-

  • All weather suits for Red Class;
  • Wellington boots and storage system;
  • A coach for each class to go on a trip;
  • Theatre tickets for all pupils to enjoy the pantomime at the Hall for Cornwall;

  • Christmas presents for all pupils;
  • Valentines’ & Leavers’ discos – Summer term 2015 (whilst we charge a small entry, the cost of putting on these discos  exceed money taken);
